There is nothing in the world like the love and compionship of an English Springer Spaniel.

The first time I saw an english springer in action was in the mid 70's during a visit to Lake Erie.  A man had two springers that were going in and out of the lake to retrieve sticks.  I didn't know it was possible for a dog to show so much happiness.  Their joy just emulated from them.

I was in the midst of establishing my career and even though I was always busy working, I made my mind up, "I wanted a springer."  I purchased my first springer in 1976, who was far from a conformation springer.  I worked with her in obedience and put a CD on her in 1979.  While attending the dog shows I decided I wanted a conformation springer.  My first conformation dog was "Cagney"  Ch. Will-O-Mill's Colonel Cagney whom completed his Championship in 1985.

Shortly after, I purchased a female and eventually she was bred to another well known champion springer.  This was a true learning experience.  I was ignorant of the temperament issues in springers until that time.  My first litter was devastating.  Every puppy in the litter developed severe aggression issues by the age of 2 yrs. old.  This was a turning point in my future program.  I spent almost 10 yrs. researching and studying pedigrees and the genetic problems in this wonderful breed.  Now I am happy and comfortable about the springers I am bringing onto this earth.  First and foremost they are companions.  My breeding program is done with immense research and extremely careful studying of the genetics of the sire and dam.

My dogs are my family and live in the house with me.  My puppies are whelped in a bedroom for me to be near and grow up in my kitchen with all the family (2 and 4 legged) to help.

I have expanded into a two other breeds.  Papillons and Sussex Spaniels.

My love for these dogs has taken me down avenues I never dreamed possible.  I becamed involved in English Springer Spaniel rescue in 1990 and became the AKC National Rescue Rep.
